Managing emergencies by preventing them is what Boman’s initiative highlights. The company has installed a defibrillator outside the company gate, so that, in addition to being easily accessible to employees, it is also available to anyone in need, even outside.
This gesture of generous attention reinforces Boman’s connection with its employees and the local community. The decision, though not mandated by any regulation, was made with potential emergencies in mind. The device increases the chances of saving a life by 10%, a percentage that is far from negligible.
The four-hour training course, enabling the use of the defibrillator, was managed by the Red Cross and was met with great enthusiasm across the company. In addition to Enrico Bonaudi – President of Boman – and Enrica Paglietta – the company’s long-time secretary and first employee – the course was attended by department heads, workshop managers, and some workers. In total, 10 people participated out of 90 employees, representing over 10%. These trained and certified individuals are now equipped to intervene promptly if needed.
What stands out in this initiative is the sense of responsibility the company feels towards the entire community, as well as the desire to be present and serve anyone in need, especially in case of an emergency. In such situations, having the right equipment and trained personnel can truly make a difference in people’s lives.
